The passion for object design and study was expressed from the first years of college when the young designer started his journey in the structured and rigorous shapes of architectural art. Ever since, each collection bearing the designer’s signature has been a continuous display of sensual shapes, rigorously sculpted in clean lines and sophisticated structures that over time created a unique, unmistakable style.
As a young architect, M A projects were displayed in galleries, along with the works of other famous artists, and it wasn’t long before his hand-crafted avant-garde creations arose the interest of competing companies who soon began negotiations for partnerships.
In spite of the sudden success, M A decided to go another direction, and so, in 1989 AMI DESIGN, the designer’s first company, was being founded. AMI focused on the production of short-series shoe ware, personalized bags and leather goods. M A’s decision to found his own company soon proved to be a big success, and the opening of the first MIHAI ALBU boutique marked M A’s entry among the main upper market players.
"The shoe architect" as surnamed by the media, became over the following years one of the leading names in Romanian fashion.
